Who are Tots Coaching?

Tots Coaching was designed to give young people a sound grounding in physical literacy as well as working with grassroots clubs. Through encountering a range of activities, they are able to improve their basic movement and fundamental sport skills in a fun, challenging and enjoyable manner. We provide a sound base for continued involvement in sport in a positive light and enhance the future performance of those young people that progress up the sporting ladder.

Our Mission Statement:

For children to have an enjoyable learning process through the art of sport that will not only bring them a positive outlook of physical activity. They will learn to play in a fun safe environment with professional coach’s while developing their number recognition, colour recognition and the use of shapes.

Anthony Allen

Antony is a graduate of Wakefield University Centre and achieved a 2:1 on their Applied Sports Performance course. Antony has worked for a wide range of Organisations and companies before starting Tots Coaching. Initially starting his coaching with his local grassroots club and coached there for 7 years working with children from 10-15 as well as 3 years working with their tots section. Antony also had a short period working with Durkar Devils JFC as a coach developer supporting the new under 7’s coaches with their introduction in coaching. He’s also worked with former professional players running sessions as an assistant coach and lead coach in their talent finder sessions.

As well as working specifically in football Antony has also worked within a wide range of schools through spells with local companies before moving into employment within certain schools. He is currently the Sports Specialist at Brampton ellis juniors and works closely with their P.E lead to develop their curriculum, teacher confidence in delivery and understanding and has supported the school in achieving gold in the school games scheme.

Michael Bamford

Mick has been coaching over a 25 year period ranging from Foundation age children to elite athletes at the U16 age group on the Rugby League pathway.

He has run his own business Leapfrog Coaching Services Ltd which delivered high end PE lessons to Junior Schools for both Ks1 and 2 children as well as taking upon himself the challenge of mentoring school teachers to try and both increase their subject knowledge and confidence when delivering PE.
As well as delivering these sessions Mick has also put together a portfolio of inclusive, interactive and fun lessons plans in order to keep the learners engaged and at a level where all learners can contribute and continue to develop.

Mick is a qualified teacher who has worked at Wakefield College for a period of 9 years during this time he was also Head Coach of the Rugby League Development Centre coaching young adults from the ages of 16-19.

Mick has previously spent time with bodies such as the Rugby Football League; Street Games; Youth Services, Action Against Crime Project, and Youth Offending Teams.
